Writer-director Jobst Christian Oetzmann studied at Munich´s film school HFF from 1985 to 1991. With an extensive list of credits (drama skewed towards crime, justice and personal relationships), he has directed two TV movies nominated for the Grimme Awards („Schwarzer Advent“ 2002 (“Black Christmas”), and „Duell der Richter“ 2003 (“Dueling Judges”)) and in 2002 he picked up the Grimme Award for his TATORT episode “Im freien Fall” (Scene of the Crime episode “Falling Down”).

Most of his TV-dramas (“Delphinsommer“ (“Summer of Dolphins”, “Drechsers zweite Chance“ (“Drechsler - A Second Chance”), „Der Novembermann“ (“The Man in November”) have participated in well-known German and international film festivals (Munich, Hof, Osnabruck, Mannheim, Baden-Baden, Banff, Rome). He also won the 2001 Bayerischer Filmpreis (Bavarian Film Award) for his first feature, “DIE EINSAMKEIT DER KROKODILE” (“Solitude of the Crocodiles”).

His TV drama „Der Novembermann“ (“The Man in November”) (WDR/arte) was awarded with the Filmkunstpreis für Fernsehen in Deutschland (Award for Cinematographic Artwork in German Television) at Mannheim Film Festival 2007. Oetzmann’s second feature “Zweier Ohne” (“Coxless Pair”) based on the novel by Dirk Kurbjuweit was nominated for best script in the Deutscher Filmpreis 2008 (German Film Awards). In 2011/2 Oetzmann wrote and shot three episodes of “Verbrechen“ (“Crime”), which were nominated for various awards throughout Germany.
